Traces of methane in the outermost regions in part account for the planet's blue appearance. Because of its great distance from the Sun, Neptune's outer atmosphere is one of the coldest places in the Solar System. Neptune's atmosphere is notable for its active and visible weather patterns and its Great Dark Spot. These weather patterns are driven by the strongest sustained winds of any planet in the Solar System, with recorded wind speeds as high as 2,100 kilometres per hour (1,300 mph). I used the ice to illustrate the icy terrain of Neptune, the wings and shawl to illustrate the strong winds, the arcrystal to illustrate Neptune’s rings, and the blues and purples to depict Neptune’s color. Salacia is the wife of Neptune, god of the sea I did way too much research on this Tags: neptune, sfplanets |
