0 commentsAbout this Style My birthday is September 17, making me a Virgo. Traditionally, Virgos are represented with a maiden or a virgin, symbolizing innocence and purity. The whites and blushes of this HA reflect that. The constellation of Virgo is associated with two main figures: Erigone, representing the harvest and forever after associating Virgo with the earth; and Astraea, a goddess of both innocence and law. In myth, she became tired and sick of war, and ascended up to the heavens and away from the Earth. I used wings to represent that, as she's often depicted with them. My HA uses the earthy tones of the gold/tans and blue-greens to connect with the earth, and the sharpness of the metal to represent the law side, the governing side, the practical side. Both a hard and soft figure, Virgos are unique; I tried to capture that with this HA. Tags: sfastro |
