About this Style I was inspired by del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth, as it's been one of my favorite films for years. I was really young when I first saw it so the scene with the Pale Man had a huge impact on me and he would occasionally feature in my nightmares. I decided to incorporate several elements from the film into an HA - the labyrinth itself, the Pale Man's table, and the prize that Ofelia is to obtain in the Pale Man's domain. I thought the shirt was interesting as it looks like a maze as seen from above, and that both the red of the shirt and the pauldron reminded me a bit of the red grapes at the Pale Man's table. Next, the dagger, which is what Ofelia retrieved from the Pale Man's lair. The last bit lies in the title, which references the gouges in the Pale Man's hands in which he holds his eyes. Aaaand now that I've written a mini essay, I'll bow out.
