1 commentAbout this Style I started a series of HAs based on the four horseman forever ago, and I finally got around to updating it. Death is the last horseman, but I wanted it instead to be a horsewoman, as rather than thinking of death as a destructive force, I think of it as a transitional force. I didn't want death to be violent or angry, but rather simple and "familiar". So, symbolism: Black: Western color symbolizing death. "Torn" Garments: A tradition in Judaism is to wear a torn garment during the mourning of a passed person. Pale color: Death rides upon a pale horse. Also, relating to the phrase "as pale as death". Stitches: Death tears at us, emotionally. We try to sew these as best as we can, but the scars still remain. Letters on Legs: The preservation of memories of those we have lost. Ring + Earring + Necklace: We often keep mementos of the ones we lost. Tags: born this way, chic, four horsemen |
