i usually would have seen the use of black at the feet as a sort of go to when no other shoe was found, a crux i've been guilty of doing many times myself but here it works perfectly and actually looks like coal/gradient thing and adds depth to the orange palette you worked with. awesome.
and that hair use is fabulous :D :D
