noooo it can look so dodgy, I've just seen it oh so many times and like, I get what it's trying to achieve but it normally looks sloppy.
It's one of those things I'll always think twice about (see also: double brows, cluttered ankles, lazy toe claws (there were a few years where I wouldn't adore anything with toe claws lmao but I've softened with time and I have actually used them, once), etc etc)

i think theyre cute when used subtly and sparingly, obviously there are shoes where it looks awkward and forced but most of the times ive seen it done people use it tastefully. i do feel you on the 'overdone' aspect tho.
