I just noticed there's a "default tag" option, and all my HAs are set as having a default tag of "no GA" and "CHIC application," which obviously is not true for all of them, so how do I get rid of it?

You should only be getting those tags if you click on them?

Maybe you're confused. They show up UNDER the tag field. If they're only there, then they're not tagged with those. You'd have to click on them to add them into the field.

I got a warning for not uploading my images the right way... I'm not sure how to fix this. I looked at the guide to uploading images and I did everything right. I put it in tinypic and I think tinypic might have converted the images to jpg, but I can't tell the difference.
ImageImage
1) This is supposedly a jpg (it says so in the tags but it's not blurry to me)
2) I changed the jpg in the tag to png just to see if it will auto adjust in tinypic and since I can't really see too much difference besides the second one being a bit bigger/darker (maybe I'm just seeing things o__O) I thought I'd go ahead and bug someone :P

both of those are png files. even though you added .jpg at the end of the title, its still a .png (it just got renamed to "2ewh3yc.jpg.png". you have to go through a different process to change a png file to a jpg, but thats a different story.

you can tell an HA is a png file if you put it somewhere with a colored background and you can see that the white area was transparent.

ex:
Image Image
the first one would be a PNG because you can see its transparent. the second would be a JPG because the white background shows up.

i dont know how yours came up the way they did. they were half the size of a normal avatar, and some of them were grainy and had white backrgounds. perhaps you copied the wrong code? it should be the very last URL in the tinypic boxes

Image

if thats what you copied, then you probably saved them wrong or something, because tinypic should not convert pngs to jpegs

but you can also upload your avatars directly from your computer onto SF, instead of tinypic first.

The best way to upload is directly from the file saved on your computer simply because it eliminates tinypic from altering the image in any way, though I'm not sure why tiny pic would resize or change the avatar since it should be a small file anyway.

The only other thing that could alter the file once you saved it is opening it in a program like paint causing a loss of image quality. Again the best practice is to save it and upload it right to SF without any program or image host getting ahold of it beforehand.
